Google To Buy Amazon?

With the new Double Click addition to the Google family, I was trying to figure out what is next for them?

I just received another email about recent changes to Froogle and Google Base. Let's face it, Froogle is not Google material. They have the option to keep trying to improve it or let it go.

My prediction:

Google is currently not a player in the shopping engine arena. They can either spend millions to fix what they got, then spend more millions to brand it OR by an existing engine or interface for that money and go from there.

There are many shopping engines to chose from and the top picks I feel Google will look at are Ebay and Amazon.

I see Amazon.com to be the next Google purchase. Amazon has the technology they need and the opportunity is there. It would be easy for Google to update Amazons interface with Adwords paid listings, content network ads, and a google checkout option.

Does Google really have to own everything? Where is the spirit of free enterprize and competition and where is OUR choice going to be heard if Google IS the only choice? I don't want Google making choices for me, enough is enough, time for the Feds to step in here and stop Google from controlling e-commerce and what we as consumers see online as far as shopping. If Google shows you search returns based upon your past activity with every Google action, we have NO choice but to do what Google wants the planet to do, and that is to purchase from a Google provided advertisement shown to us by Google and they are not giving us returns based upon relevancy anymore where we have a choice. Gone are the unique Mom & Pop sites that would be discovered while browsing the search returns. Google is packed with duplicate listings, major merchants and foreign crap sites that will wholesale products to you (ref: Alibaba). Wake up Feds! Back to Yahoo for me. I don't want a planet run by Google, the #1 choice for hackers. I want freedom of choice, not freedom to choose what Google forces me to select from because a bot thinks it knows what I want better than I do!
