Chronicles Of The Last IE User

April 2006: All the talk at work was Firefox this and Firefox that. I took a quick look at it, but wasn’t impressed.

May 2006: I am told Firefox lets you open several tabs at the same time and is very convenient.

June 2006: Others say Firefox allows you to add plug ins. I am asked if I use it and my reply is no. I like IE.

July 2006: I am still with IE. Mamma didn’t raise no quiter!!!

August 2006 to March 2007: More Firefox hype. Even with all the talk over the last year about how it is customizable and how user friendly it is, I am still a dedicated IE user.

April 2007: Nathania Johnson, SEO Copywriter for Fortune Interactive, writes about how Firefox saved her from giving a user ID and Password to a fake program. I think this was what I needed to give Firefox a second look. Security is very important to me. I bank online, I have several mutual fund accounts, and log into personal accounts. Knowing that Firefox may prevent me from giving out these logins and passwords to a false page forces me to give Firefox another look.

April 16, 2007: Al Scillitani gives Firefox a 30 trial. I will make Firefox my default browser and try to use it as much as possible for the next 30 days. I will also try to find out more about its abilities and play with these features.

Middle of May, I will write about my experience and decide whether or not I will stay the last IE user or move to Firefox permanently.
