New Web-Based Program from Jaxtr Simplifies Communication Among Bloggers and Blog Readers
Jaxtr, a start-up company based in Silicon Valley, California, is gearing up to embed a free Web-based telephone service on a variety of popular social networking and blogging sites including MySpace, Friendster and Blogger among several others.
This concept initiated from the idea that young Web users, which make up the majority of Jaxtr's primary target audience, are almost always available via a social networking page (like MySpace) or on their mobile phone.
In contrast with existing Internet calling services such as Skype that are strictly computer-based, or require consumers to buy special headsets, microphones and other pricy accessories, Jaxtr plans to allow users to make inbound calls to bloggers around the globe from any phone in the world!
Once registered on Jaxtr's site, a user can embed an interactive phone feature into selected blogs or social network profiles. (News Corp.'s MySpace, Tagged, Friendster, Hi5, Xanga and Google's Blogger to name a few) Consumers will then be able to click on any Jaxtr link and enter their own phone number, which triggers an instant call to their home or mobile phone. Answering the phone connects the caller to the Jaxtr user's own phone. Callers can then speak freely phone to phone.
Jaxtr says that it is beginning a test by private invitation only of this new calling service, with plans to make it widely available to all Web users sometime early next year.
