.MOBI Domain Part 2
A few days ago I wrote about getting your .MOBI domain name. There are a few more things to keep in mind regarding .MOBI domains.
The mobile devices keyboards are tiny and not very user friendly. Each key is about the size of the tip of a pencil eraser. This means people will try to use as many shortcuts as possible. If a highly searched term is automobile dealers, most mobile users will use auto dealers as their search term. If you have a long domain name, try to get all the abbreviations possible. The smallest .MOBI domains are 3 characters. You can brand these to your company name and then 301 redirect them to your main .MOBI if needed.
With all of this in mind, make sure your "non-www" domain works properly. Either takes you to your non-www domain or 301 redirects to your "www." domain. I have visited sites when you remove the "www." in front of the domain, an error occurs. Again, mobile users are going to use the least amount of characters as possible and not typing in "www." will save them 4 characters of typing.
