Yahoo for Dinner?
Yahoo is officially going into the food business. In an announcement on Wednesday, the search engine giant said it will soon be offering its users access to thousands of recipes, cooking and entertaining advice columns and more from some of today’s biggest names and organizations including Rachael Ray, Martha Stewart, the Food Network, Kraft Foods, Williams-Sonoma, Betty Crocker and Cooks.com just to name a few.
The goal of the new “Yahoo Food” page will be to help Yahoo users answer that age-old question, “what’s for dinner” by offering an extensive variety of categorized breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, and desert recipe options that can be accessed in seconds with just the click of a mouse.
Yahoo Food is expected to launch in the U.S. in early 2007, followed by Australia, Great Britain and Canada later in the year. Yahoo Food will eventually be available to users world-wide.
